Let's begin with a little history about the company:

In 1976 Barry Georges, the owner, had a 1951 Ford pickup truck and $5.00 in his pocket. That was the first day of business for Garage Door Specialists. Since 1976, the business has grown to include his son Dusty, wife Peggy, Debby Best the office manager, seven service technicians, and four trucks operating in eight counties (Alexander, Avery, Burke, Catawba, Caldwell, McDowell, Rutherford, and Wilkes). We do business in Taylorsville, Banner Elk, Boone, Linville, Morganton, Lake James, Hickory, Newton Conover, Lenoir, Marion, Old Fort, Lake Lure, and Wilkesboro.

The only business of its kind in Burke County N.C., Garage Door Specialists sells and installs overhead garage doors for residential and commercial applications, rolling steel doors for both residential and commercial applications, and Genie and Liftmaster garage door openers.

Since 1995, we have been the authorized regional distributor for Wayne-Dalton™. Wayne Dalton is the world's largest manufacturer of overhead doors, therefore they are able to combine quality with cost efficiency, which translates into savings for you. We also sell and install Amarr™ residential garage doors and COOKSON™ rolling steel doors.
